The new pedestrian connections at the Aalto University Campus have been finalised.

Over the years, and with the changes in the Aalto campus, the students’ flow throughout it has drastically changed.

Small sensitive interventions allowed us to rethink the path system while improving accessibility and adding new programs, always protecting the cultural heritage values and preserving Aalto’s original ideas.

The development and restoration of the arrival area is a balance between preserving the iconic arrival and the view of the amphitheatre.

Moreover, new extensive plantings underline the paths, increase biodiversity and reimagine the experience of arrival to the iconic amphitheatre. The big old linden trees cut down a few months ago take great prominence by turning them into decaying wood art. It creates a new layer in the site’s biodiversity and a new historic layer representing the modern campus.
