Saturday, November 16, Nørrebro United and the housing department AKB Lundtoftegade will inaugurate a new movement square featuring a football field, activity path, and recreational areas where residents and the rest of the neighborhood can gather.

The square is the first step in the initiative ‘Nørrebro samles på banen’ aka ‘Nørrebro Gathers on the Field,’ aimed at strengthening football and fostering a sense of community in the district.

“Nørrebro United looks forward to collaborating with other local associations to make the movement square in Lundtoftegade a vibrant place with a wide range of activities that can accommodate different ways of participating. We will work to ensure that the movement square becomes a meeting point for associations, the holistic plan, and other local organizations, as this is important for encouraging even more local children and young people to engage with association life,” says Project Manager Astrid Bertelsen, Nørrebro United.

MASU Planning are the main consultants responsible for the landscape design, Lyngkilde are the engineers, and the contractor is Optimus Anlæg A/S.

“Nørrebro gathers on the field is largely about connecting the area more closely with its surroundings and creating safe environments that strengthen the sense of community among residents and users. In addition to the upgraded training facilities for Nørrebro United, we have strived to create a varied landscape space that can be used by everyone – regardless of age, gender, or level of activity,” says Sune Oslev, partner at MASU Planning.

The project is financially supported by Realdania, Lokale- og Anlægsfonden, Nordea-fonden, and Københavns Kommune. The client is AKB, København.

Project partners include Nørrebro United, Boligafdelingerne AKB, København Lundtoftegade and AKB Titanparken, NørreBrobyggerne, Ressource Center Ydre Nørrebro, Til Vægs, and Brobold.
