The design philosophy of MASU Planning promotes a holistic approach with attention to site and identity in the landscapes we create. With our innovative and notable architectural approach, we create solutions strongly rooted in the Nordic design tradition and a common cultural history. Our designs rely on clear ideas deriving from the specific character of each individual site.

Our aim is to create new landscape stories combining honesty, sturdiness, stimulating experiences and inclusive qualities. We value creating opportunities for sports, active leisure and play as well as calm spaces with room to sense and contemplate ones surroundings.

MASU Planning takes on all types of landscape architecture, from large-scale planning to concept development, strategic design, detailing and project management. Our focus is mainly on urban spaces, city development, cultural institutions, and residential and educational environments for people of all ages.

We think and apply sustainability in a broad perspective, using it to integrate aspects from climate adaption to the life-cycle assessment of materials as well as economic and social considerations in the vision for our landscape designs. Using a broad array of skills, we facilitate multifunctional landscapes and urban spaces, integrating rainwater management, plantings, architecture, design, building techniques and a vast knowledge of materials.

Over the years, MASU Planning has made a name for itself with awards and nominations in national and international competitions, resulting in a number of prominent projects. Furthermore, the office solves assignments for the public sector, housing associations, and private investors and developers.

MASU Planning was founded in 2007 by landscape architects Malin Blomqvist and Sune Oslev. In 2013, a subsidiary office was established in Helsinki and today the two offices form a versatile team with a bond reinforced by a shared passion for landscape architecture.
